प्रश्न
In a diffraction pattern due to a single slit, how will the angular width of the central maximum change, if orange light is used in place of green light?
Justify your answer.
उत्तर
The angular width of central maxima of a single slit diffraction pattern is 2θ = `(2λ)/"a"`
Angular width of central maxima ∝ wavelength of light used. Orange light has a higher wavelength than that green light. So, the Angular width of the central maxima will be more when orange light is used instead of green light.
