संक्षेप में उत्तर

उत्तर

  1. Increases in food production per hectare have not kept pace with increases in population, and the planet has virtually no more arable land or fresh water to spare.
  2. As a result, per-capita cropland has shrunk by more than half since 1960, and per-capita production of grains, the basic food, has been falling worldwide for 20 years.
  3. In developing countries, to achieve poverty alleviation targets, a massive increase in agricultural productivity is required.
  4. In countries where agriculture is the basis of the economy, more than half of the labour force works in agriculture.
  5. Poor agricultural systems undermine development by pushing up the cost of food, capital, and other commodities.
  6. An increase in population means less food for everyone.
