India’s first-ever tourism university to be established by IIHM

- Master Hemant Rao, Student Reporter

Mumbai, 15th June 2019

Mumbai’s leading Management and Hospitality Institute, IIHM, announced the establishment of their tourism university on Friday, 13th June 2019.

The plan for the university had been announced in January last year and IIHM should soon fulfil its promise of starting the process of admissions by August 2020. It is the first university of its kind to offer full-time courses in tourism. As of now, the university is offering three courses in tourism. One is a full-time two-year degree programme, the second is a part-time three-year programme and the third one is a one-year diploma programme. The university aims to educate the students on the functioning of the tourism industry. The students graduating from the university can expect to be placed in some of the top travel companies, hotels and resorts in India. The university hopes to provide well-trained professionals to the ever-expanding tourism industry in our country.
