प्रश्न

Solve the following quadratic equation by factorization method : `"x"^2 - 5"x" - 36 = 0`

योग

उत्तर

`"x"^2 - 5"x" - 36 = 0`

`"x"^2 - 9"x" + 4"x" - 36 =  0`

`"x"("x" - 9) + 4("x" - 9) = 0`....{By Factorizing 36}

∴ `("x" - 9)("x" + 4) = 0`

x - 9 = 0 or x + 4 = 0

x = 9 or x =  -4
