प्रश्न
The capacity of a closed cylindrical vessel of height 1 m is 15.4 litres. How many square metres of metal sheet would be needed to make it?
उत्तर
Given data is as follows:
Volume of the cylinder = 15.4 litres
h = 1m
We have to find the area of the sheet required to make this cylinder.
We know that 1 liter = 1000 cm3
Therefore, 15.4 liters = 15400 cm3
Also, h = 1m
=100cm
We know that,
Volume = `pir^2h`
Therefore,
`pir^2h` =15400
`22/7 xx r^2 xx 100 = 15400`
r = 7cm
Now, using this radius we have to find the Total Surface Area.
Total Surface Area = `2pi rh + 2 pi r^2`
`= 2 xx 22/7 xx 7xx100+2xx22/7xx7xx7`
total surface area = 4708 cm2
