प्रश्न

The height h of a cylinder equals the circumference of the cylinder. In terms of h what is the volume of the cylinder?

उत्तर

Let h be the height of the cylinder with radius r.

It is given that:

`2pi r = h`

`⇒ r = h/(2pi)`

Therefore, the volume of the cylinder is

`V = pi r^2 h`

` ⇒ V = pi (h/(2pi)) h = h_3/(4pi)`
