प्रश्न
The present age of a man is double the age of his son. After 8 years, the ratio of their ages will be 7:4. Find the present ages of the man and his son.
उत्तर
Let the present age of the son be x years.
Then, the father's age = 2x years.
After 8 years, their ages will be (x + 8) years and (2x + 8) years respectively.
Given, After 8 years, the ratio of their ages will be 7 : 4.
As per given conditions,
`((x + 8))/((2x + 8)) = (4)/(7)`
⇒ 7x + 56 = 8x + 32
⇒ x = 24 years.
Thus, the present age of the son is 24 years.
Then, the father's age = 48 years.
