1. According to the concept of appellate jurisdiction, the Supreme Court is presumably India's last court of appeal. As a result, the Supreme Court may hear appeals in certain criminal and civil cases against the rulings of the State High Courts. In appeals, the Supreme Court will hear cases in:
   1. Interpretation of the Constitution.
   2. The case presents a significant legal topic with major effects.
2. The President may refer questions of law or public concern to the Supreme Court for an advisory opinion.
   1. The President may refer a legal question to the Supreme Court if it is considered necessary to the public and requires their view. The Supreme Court's advisory opinion is not binding on the government and cannot be performed as a decision.
   2. Disputes related to pre-constitutional treaties and agreements are not subject to original jurisdiction under Article 131.
3. According to Article 137, the Supreme Court can review and correct errors in its judgements and orders. Because the Supreme Court is a court of record, its rulings hold as proof and cannot be challenged in any other court.
