प्रश्न

What happens when sodium peroxide dissolves in water?

संक्षेप में उत्तर

उत्तर

When sodium peroxide is dissolved in water, it is readily hydrolysed to form sodium hydroxide and water. The chemical equation involved in the reaction is:

\[\ce{Na_2O_{2(s)}  + 2H_2O_{(l)} -> 2NaOH_{(aq)} + H_2O_{2(aq)}}\]
