प्रश्न

What is meant by specific heat capacity?

स्पष्ट कीजिए

उत्तर

Specific heat capacity of a body can be defined as the amount of heat energy required to raise the temperature of the unit mass of that body by 1oC (or 1 K).

It is given as

`s  =(DeltaQ)/(DeltaT xxm)`

where,

`DeltaQ = "Amount of heat energy supplied"`

`DeltaT = "Rise in temperature"`

`m = "Mass of the body"`
