प्रश्न
What was the reaction of the Congress to the Wavell’s plan.
उत्तर
This plan of the-Muslim League was not acceptable to the Congress. It was the basic claim of the Congress that it represented both the Hindus and the Muslims Nationals of India, even those living outside India in any part of the world as Indian Nationals. Although Jinnah said, ‘a final examination and analysis of the Wavell Plan we found it was a snare’, yet the Congress agreed to the proposals. Gandhiji remarked, ‘The plan was sincere in spirit and contained the seeds of independence.’
