प्रश्न
What will be the area of a new square formed if the side of a square is made one-fourth?
उत्तर
Let the side of square is s units then area = (s × s) units2
If the side of the new square is made one fourth then side = `((1 xx "s")/4)` units
Then area = `((1 xx "s")/4 xx (1 xx "s")/4)` units2
= `("s" xx "s")/16`
= `1/16 ("s" xx "s") "units"^2`
Area of the new square is reduced to `1/16` times to that of original area.
