Who do you think, has the last laugh-The Governor or Evans? Justify.

संक्षेप में उत्तर

उत्तर

The last laugh goes to Evans. The play mocks the police and jail systems' standard operating procedures. The convicts are seen to be one step ahead of the jail officials in this scene. The Oxford Prison Governor has taken every step to ensure that the prisoner Evans's 0-Level German exam, which is being held there, won't give him a way out. The examination proceeds without incident. When returning to the cell, Mr. Stephens, a jail guard, discovers an injured "Mc Leery" strewn across Evans's chair after sending off the invigilator.

Evans can easily escape from prison with a police officer while posing as Mc Leery. He says he saw Evans leave via Elsfield Way, but he gets turned around at the Headington roundabout. He binges out close to the Exam offices before dissipating. The Governor of Oxford Prison finds him in the Golden Lion in Chipping Norton. The Governor permits Evans to enter a prison van that is being watched by a jail official rather than transporting him safely back to custody. This is exactly what Evans had in mind. Evans escapes from prison once more thanks to the help of the driver and the "prison official."

Evans has in reality set very complex plans. In September, he enrolled in the night classes. One of his friends teaches German. Additionally, he has friends on the Examination Board. He patiently awaits June. Reverend Stuart Mc Leery is restrained and gagged in his Broad Street apartment by two of his pals.

One of them pretends to be him. He has on a ministerial robe. He is wearing two black fronts and two collars. Evans mucks around beneath the covers while wearing a collar with a single stud at the back and a black front. His friends also set up a car where he could change clothing and makeup. Both the police and the prison officials are duped by him. Evans is able to escape the prison despite all of the security measures taken by the prison authorities, proving that he emerged victorious.
