प्रश्न
A farmer has enough food to feed 20 animals in his cattle for 6 days. How long would the food last if there were 10 more animals in his cattle?
उत्तर
Let the food last for x days. According to question,
Number of days | 6 | x |
Number of animals | 20 | 30 |
Since the given problem is in inverse proportion.
∴ 6 × 20 = x × 30
⇒ `(6xx20)/30` = x
⇒ 4 = x
Therefore, the required number of days is 4.
