Answer the following :

Find the radius of the circle in which central angle of 60° intercepts an arc of length 37.4 cm.

उत्तर

Let S be the length of the arc and r be the radius of the circle.

θ = 60°

= `(60 xx pi/180)^"c"`

= `(pi/3)^"c"`

S = 37.4 cm
Since S = rθ,

37.4 = `"r" xx pi/3`

∴ 3 x 37.4 = `"r" xx 22/7      ...[because pi = 22/7]`

∴  r = `(3 xx 37.4 xx 7)/22`

∴  r = 35.7 cm
