प्रश्न
Answer the following :
Find the radius of the circle in which central angle of 60° intercepts an arc of length 37.4 cm.
उत्तर
Let S be the length of the arc and r be the radius of the circle.
θ = 60°
= `(60 xx pi/180)^"c"`
= `(pi/3)^"c"`
S = 37.4 cm
Since S = rθ,
37.4 = `"r" xx pi/3`
∴ 3 x 37.4 = `"r" xx 22/7 ...[because pi = 22/7]`
∴ r = `(3 xx 37.4 xx 7)/22`
∴ r = 35.7 cm
