Deliquescent salt Hygroscopic salt:
Water soluble salts which on exposure to the atmosphere absorb moisture from the atmosphere dissolve in the absorbed moisture and change into liquid state are called Deliquescent salt. e.g. washing soda (Na2CO3.10H2O) Absorb water or moisture from the atmosphere when exposed but do not change their state like delinquent salts. e.g. Cone. H2SO4, quick lime CaO.
