प्रश्न
Equal volumes of alcohol and mercury are heated uniformly in identical containers separately from 10°C to 50°C. Will both the liquids occupy the same volume? Give reason.
एका वाक्यात उत्तर
उत्तर
No, both liquids i.e. mercury and alcohol will not have the same volume on heating as they have a different coefficients of expansions, thus they expand differently on heating at the same temperature range. Alcohol expands more than mercury.
