प्रश्न

In the month of March 2019, Find the days on which the date is a multiple of 5. (see the given page of the calender)

लघु उत्तर

उत्तर

The dates multiple of 5 are 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30.

From the calender, we can observe on these dates, the days fall are Tuesday,

Sunday, Friday, Wednesday, Monday, Saturday

Sample Space = {Tuesday, Sunday, Friday, Wednesday, Monday, Saturday}

∴ n(S) = 6

Hence, the total number days on which the date is a multiple of 5 is 6.

Two dice are thrown, find the probability of getting
(1) The sum of numbers on their upper faces is at least 10.

When two dice are thrown, the number of sample points in the sample space are ______

A two-digit number is formed with digits 2, 3, 5 without repetition. Write the sample space

Two coins are tossed simultaneously. The probability of getting at the most one head is ______.

Two coins are tossed simultaneously. Complete the following activity to write the sample space and the given events A and B in the set form:

Event A: To get at least one head.

Event B: To get no head.

Activity:

Two coins are tossed simultaneously.

∴ Sample space is

S = `{square, HT, TH, square}`

Event A: To get at least one head.

∴ A = `{square, HT, TH}`

Event B: To get no head.

∴ B = `{square}`

Assertion (A): A die is thrown once and the probability of getting an even number is `2/3`.

Reason (R): The sample space for even numbers on a die is {2, 4, 6}.
