Net I = `I_1 + I_2 + 2sqrtI_1sqrtI_2 cosphi` 

Since I1 = I2 = I

Net I = I + I + 2 I cosΦ

= 2I (1 + cosΦ)

= `2I (2 cos^2  phi/2)`

For path difference `lambda/4`, phase difference is `pi/2`.

Net I = `4 I cos^2  pi/4`

Net I = 2 I
