Minerals are transported to the required parts of the plant body. Once when the minerals enter the xylem, transpiration pull helps in their transportation. These minerals are transported passively and they enter the cell by active transport. More minerals are transported to the young and growing parts of the plant as they require more minerals for their growth
Minerals are also translocated from the senescent or old parts of the plant to required parts or to the young storage parts of the plant body, Hence optimum use of minerals takes place.
