प्रश्न
Solve the following equation.
3(y + 8) = 10(y − 4) + 8
उत्तर
3(y + 8) = 10(y − 4) + 8
⇒ 3y + 24 = 10y - 40 + 8
⇒ 3y + 24 = 10y - 32
Adding 32 to both sides
⇒ 3y + 24 + 32 = 10y - 32 + 32
⇒ 3y + 56 = 10y
Subtracting 3y from both sides
⇒ 3y + 56 - 3y = 10y - 3y
⇒ 56 = 7y
Dividng both sides by 7
⇒ `(7"y")/7 = 56/7`
⇒ y = 8
Hence, y = 8 is the solution of the equation.
