प्रश्न
Solve the following equation:
`"x"/3 - 2 1/2 = "4x"/9 - "2x"/3`
उत्तर
⇒ `"x"/3 - 5/2 = "4x"/9 - "2x"/3`
Since, L.C.M. of denominators 3, 2, 9 and 3 = 18
⇒ `"x"/3 xx 18 - 5/2 xx 18 = "4x"/9 xx 18 - "2x"/3 xx 18`
.....[Multiplying each term by 18]
⇒ 6x - 45 = 8x - 12x
⇒ 6x + 12x - 8x = 45
⇒ 18x - 8x = 45
⇒ 10x = 45
⇒ x = `45/10`
⇒ x = 4.5
