The parallel sides of trapezium are 12 cm and 9cm and the distance between them is 8 cm. Find the area of the trapezium.

Area of the trapezium=${\displaystyle \frac{1}{2}\times }$ (sum of the parallel sides) ${\displaystyle \times }$distance between the parallel sides  

=${\displaystyle \frac{1}{2}\times (12+9)\times 8}$ 

=${\displaystyle 21\times 4}$ 

=${\displaystyle 84c{m}^2}$ 

So, the area of the trapezium is ${\displaystyle 84c{m}^2}$
