Question
The parallel sides of trapezium are 12 cm and 9cm and the distance between them is 8 cm. Find the area of the trapezium.
Solution
Area of the trapezium=`1/2xx` (sum of the parallel sides) `xx`distance between the parallel sides
=`1/2xx(12+9)xx8`
=`21xx4`
=`84 cm^2`
So, the area of the trapezium is `84cm^2`
