Antidiuretic hormone increases the reabsorption of water in the kidney tubules. It is produced in the posterior lobe of the pituitary gland. When there is excess loss of fluid from the body or an increase in blood pressure, ADH is secreted more. When there is no loss of fluid from the body, it is secreted less.
