प्रश्न
What number must be added to each of the numbers 6, 15, 20 and 43 to make them proportional?
उत्तर
Let no. be 'x'
∴ `(6 + x)/(15 + x) = (20 + x)/(43 + x)`
⇒ (6 + x) (43 + x) = (20 + x) (15 + x)
⇒ 258 + 49x + x2 = 300 + 35x + x2
⇒ 14x = 42
x = 3
∴ The required no. is 3.
