The Island groups of India

India has two groups of islands:

1. Lakshadweep Islands: 
   1. The Lakshadweep Islands, located in the Arabian Sea southwest of the Indian peninsula, are made up of 36 small coral islands, 10 of which are inhabited, and cover a total of 32 square kilometers.
   2. Kavaratti serves as the administrative headquarters for this island group. The islands are famous for their breathtaking coral reefs, lagoons, and biodiversity.
2. Andaman & Nicobar Islands: 
   1. Located in the Bay of Bengal, southeast of the mainland, this group of 572 islands is separated into two groups: the Andaman Islands (north) and the Nicobar Islands (south).
   2. Port Blair serves as the capital of these collection of islands. The islands are recognized for their unique flora, fauna, and cultures, including the Jarawas and Sentinelese.
