- Sant Kabir did not attach any importance to places of pilgrimage, vratas, or idol worship and did not believe in any differences based on caste, creed, sect, and religion. Rather, he believed that truth itself was God.
- He strongly criticized the people who were extremely orthodox in both Hindu and Muslim religions and preached equality of all human beings and wanted to bring about Hindu and Muslim unity.
- His compositions are also included in the Guru Granth Sahib.
- The Bhakti movement too did not give unnecessary importance to hierarchies and emphasized harmony between the different sects and religions and devotion to God.
Since Sant Kabir’s preaching was aligned to the main principle of the Bhakti movement, he became a renowned Sant in the Bhakti movement.
