What are the items included in ocean resources? What are their uses?

Oceans are also important resources and this can be understood by the fact that they cover a greater part of the earth's surface than the land itself. The resources which can be obtained from oceans can be of two types:

| Thorium is used in the production of atomic energy. | Fishes like pomfret and seer fish, as well as shrimp and prawns, are sources of proteins and vitamins; therefore, they are mainly used as seafood. |
| Magnesium is used in the flashbulb of a camera. | Dried shrimp and Bombay duck powder are used as poultry feed and are good manure. |
| Potassium is the main ingredient in the production of soap, glass, and fertilizer. | Shells are used for the preparation of medicines, ornaments and decorative articles. |
| Sodium is used in the production of cloth and paper. | Fungi are used for the production of antibiotics. |
| Sulphate is used in making artificial silk. | Shark and codfish are used for producing edible oil rich in vitamins A, D and E. |
