Question
`5x^2+13x+8=0`
Solution
We write, `13x=5x+8x as 5x^2+8x as 5x^2xx8=40^2=5x xx8x`
`∴ 5x^2+13x+8=0`
⇒` 5x^2+5x+8x+8=0`
`⇒ 5x(x+1)+8(x+1)=0 `
`⇒(x+1) (5x+8)=0`
⇒`x+1=0 or 5x+8=0`
`x=-1 or x=-8/5`
Hence, -1 and` -8/5`are the roots of the given equation.
