Options
1:2
1:3
1:4
1:8
Solution
A picture is 60 cm wide and 1.8 m long. The ratio of its width to its perimeter in lowest form is 1:8.
Explanation:
Given, Width of picture (b) = 60 cm
Length of picture (l) = 1.8 m
= (1.8 × 100) cm
= `(18/10) xx 100`
= 180 cm
Perimeter of picture = 2 × (1 + b)
= 2 × (180 + 60) cm
= (2 × 240) cm
= 480 cm
Ratio of width to its perimeter = `60/480`
= 1 .....[On dividing numerator and denominator by 60]
= 1:8
