Question

A piece of wood when left underwater again comes to the surface. Explain with reason.
Short Note

Solution

Wood has density less than water so the volume of water displaced by it is more than the volume of wooden block submerged so the force of upthrust is greater than the weight of wood which pushes wooden block on the surface. Hence, a piece of wood when left underwater again comes to the surface.
