Question

Aakash bought vegetables weighing 10kg. Out of this, 3kg 500g is onions, 2kg 75g is tomatoes and the rest is potatoes. What is the weight of the potatoes?

Sum

Solution

Total weight of vegetables Aakash bought = 10.000kg

Weight of onions = 3kg 500g

= 3.500kg

Weight of tomatoes = 2kg 75g

= 2.075kg

Weight of potatoes = Total weight of vegetables bought – (weight of onions + weight of tomatoes)

= 10.000 – (3.500 + 2.075)

   3.500

+ 2.075

    5.575

 10.000

– 5.575

   4.425

∴ 4.425kg is the weight of the potatoes.
