Basic nature of acetamide: It reacts with acids and form salts. e.g;
\[\ce{CH_3CONH_2 + HCl -> \underset{\text{Acetamide hydrochloride}}{CH_3CON+H_3Cl^-}}\]

Acidic nature of acetamide: It liberates hydrogen gas when treated with reactive metals.
\[\ce{2CH_3CONH_2 + 2Na -> 2CH_3CONHNa + H_2 ^}\]
