Question
An object undergoes an acceleration of 8 ms-2 starting from rest. Find the distance travelled in 5 seconds.
Solution
Initial velocity of the object = 0 ms-1
Acceleration of the object = 8 ms-2.
Time = 5 s.
Distance covered would be S = ut + 1/2 at2.
S = 1/2 X 8 X 5 X5 = 100 m.
