Question
Answer the following question.
As we go from one planet to another planet, how will the mass and weight of a body change?
Short Note
Solution
- As we go from one planet to another, mass of a body remains unaffected.
- However, due to change in mass and radius of planet, acceleration due to gravity acting on the body changes as, g ∝ `"M"/"R"^2`.
Hence, weight of the body ∝also changes as, W ∝ `"M"/"R"^2`.
