Question

Are the sets A = {b, c, d, e} and B = {x : x is a letter in the word ‘MASTER’} joint?

Sum

Solution

A = {b,c,d,e}

B = {x : x is a letter in the word "MASTER"}

∴ B = {m, a ,s, t, e, r}

Hence set A and set B are joint because these sets have element e in common.
