Solution
Chalcogens are ore-forming elements. Most of the ores are oxides and sulphides, therefore oxygen, sulphur and other groups of 16 elements are called Chalcogens. In O, S, Se, Te and PO last electron enters to p-orbital. Therefore Chalcogens belongs to p-block.
