Define the term acceleration due to gravity. State its average value.
What do you understand by the term acceleration due to gravity?
Solution
When a body falls freely under gravity, the acceleration produced in the body due to the Earth's gravitational acceleration is called the acceleration due to gravity. It is represented by ‘g’. The average value of g is 9.8 m/s2.
