Describe the cuttings method for the artificial propagation of plants. Illustrate your answer with the help of labelled diagrams.
Solution
In the cutting method, a part of the stem comprising buds on it is cut from the plant using a sharp knife. This stem is then buried in a suitable medium. After some days, the stem develops roots and starts growing into a new plant.
