\[ = \frac{ac x^2 + bcx + adx + bd}{(ax + b)}\]
\[ = \frac{cx(ax + b) + d(ax + b)}{(ax + b)}\]
\[ = \frac{(ax + b)(cx + d)}{(ax + b)}\]
\[ = cx + d\]
