Question

Divide Rs 10,400 among A, B and C in the ratio `1/2:1/3:1/4`

Sum

Solution

Given ratio = `1/2:1/3:1/4`

= `1/2xx12:1/3xx12:1/4xx12` .......(Since L.C.M. of 2, 3 and 4 = 12)

= 6 : 4 : 3

Sum of ratio = 6 + 4 + 3 = 13

A's part = `6/13xx10400` = 6 × 800 = 4800

B's part = `4/13xx10400` = 4 × 800 = 3200

C's part = `3/13xx10400` = 3 × 800 = 2400
