Question
Each side of a square is 45 cm and a rectangle has length 50 cm. If the perimeters of both (square and rectangle) are same, find the breadth of the rectangle.
Solution
Side of a square = 45 cm
∴ Perimeter = 4a = 4 × 45 cm = 180 cm
or perimeter of rectangle = 180 cm
Length of rectangle = 50 cm
∴ Breadth = `"P"/2 - "l" = 180/2 - 50`
= 90 - 50 = 40
