Explain in your own words the effect of culture on personality.

1. Personality is what makes a person who he or she is it is often thought of as the traits that define us and distinguish us from others.
2. People have what's called a status personality, which is someone whose personality meets the expectations within a culture.
3. All of the personality traits that appear later on usually have one common goal, which is fulfilling these desires that the child developed provided that his culture allows him to fulfill them that way.
4. So while the culture might not affect the personality directly it channels the person's efforts in different directions so that his actions become accepted by the community and as a result, his personality is affected. So in the end we can say that culture affects the personality of a person indirectly.
5. This means that two people having the same exact genes but being raised in different environments are very likely to develop totally different personalities. This is why the different cultures can have different impacts on the personality even if the genes were highly similar.
