Explain the Term: Nerve
Solution
A nerve is a thread-like structure which emerges from the brain and the spinal cord. It consists of a large number of axons or nerve fibres surrounded by a connective tissue sheath. The nerves arising from the brain are called cranial nerves while those arising from the spinal cord, are called spinal nerves.
