Question
Express the following linear equation in the form ax + by + c = 0 and indicate the values of a, b and c in the case:
`x - y/2- 5 = 0`
Solution
We have,
`x - y/2 - 5 = 0`
⇒ `1x - y/2 − 5 = 0`
On comparing this equation with ax + by + c = 0, we get
a = 1, b = `-1/2`, and c = −5
