Question

Find the amount of water displaced by a solid spherical ball of diameter 28 cm.

`["Assume "pi=22/7]`

Sum

Solution

Radius (r) of ball = `(28/2) cm` = 14 cm

Volume of ball = `4/3pir^3`

= `[4/3xx22/7xx(14)^3]cm^3`

= `11498 2/3  cm^3`

Thus, the amount of water displaced is `11498 2/3  cm^3`.
