Question
Find the value of: `((0.2 xx 0.14) + (0.5 xx 0.91))/((0.1 xx 0.2))`
Sum
Solution
Given, `((0.2 xx 0.14) + (0.5 xx 0.91))/((0.1 xx 0.2))`
∵ 0.2 = `2/10`, 0.14 = `14/100` and 0.5 = `5/10`
0.91 = `91/100`, 0.1 = `1/10` and 0.2 = `2/10`
∴ `((0.2 xx 0.14) + (0.5 xx 0.91))/((0.1 xx 0.2)) = ((2/10 xx 14/100) + (5/10 xx 91/100))/((1/10 xx 2/10))`
= `((2 xx 14)/1000 + (5 xx 91)/1000)/((1 xx 2)/100`
= `(28/100 + 455/1000)/(2/100)`
= `((28 + 455)/1000)/(2/100)`
= `(483/100)/(2/100)`
= `483/1000 xx 100/2` ......[∵ Division is reverse of the multiplication]
= `483/(10 xx 2)`
= `241.5/10`
= 24.15
