Sum

Solution

$| \begin{matrix} 2 & 3 \\ 4 & 5 \end{matrix} | = | \begin{matrix} x & 3 \\ 2 x & 5 \end{matrix} |$

∴ 10 – 12 = 5x – 6x
∴ –2 = – x
∴ x = 2
