Question
For making 8 trousers of the same size, 14 m 80 cm of cloth is needed. How much cloth will be required for each such trouser?
Solution
We know that 1 m = 100 cm
Cloth needed for making 8 trousers = 14 m 80 cm
Cloth needed for making 1 trousers = 14 m 80 cm ÷ 8
= 14 .8 m ÷ 8
= 1.85 m = 1 m 85 cm
∴ 1 m 85 cm of cloth will be required to make one shirt.
